Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry – New Marikina advocates Bamboo planting activity every year and supports DTI NCRO initiatives.

In celebration of Philippine Bamboo Month and World Bamboo Day, the Department of Trade and Industry – National Capital Regional Office (DTI-NCRO) through the Center for Innovation and Technology for Enterprises (CITE), in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) NCR, the City Government of Marikina through its Parks Development Office, River Parks Authority and City Environmental Management Office and Barangay Malanday, participated in this year’s Nationwide Simultaneous Bamboo Planting Activity. With the tagline “Buhay-Kawayan: Haligi ng Industriya’t Kalikasan, Pag-asa sa Kinabukasan”, the event was held along the Road Dike of Barangay Malanday, Marikina City on September 18, 2024.

The 2024 Nationwide Simultaneous Bamboo Planting Activity which aims to encourage sustainable practices and highlight the ecological and economic benefits of bamboo is also supported by Delfi Foods Inc., PCA Marivalley Constructors Association Inc., Knights of Columbus, Food Caterers Association of the Philippines, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)-New Marikina, Rover Scout Circle 314, Cooperative Union of Marikina City, Barangka Credit Cooperative, MPC, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Marikina Sapatos, and Junior Chamber International (JCI) Marikina Marikit.” (caption from DTI NCR FB PAGE)
