PCCI-NM is spearheading the revival of heritage dishes

PCCI-NM is spearheading the revival of heritage dishes as part of the Marikina Food Tourism initiatives to intensify foot traffic to Marikina. This is in collaboration with the local government Tourism office, Legislative department and the Marikina Food industry associations.
PCCI New Marikina’s project to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
 
Lauya, Sinigang na hito sa bayabas, guinataang atis. ilan lang yan sa mga Marikina dishes na mukang nawawala na.
Baka nga ang mga Gen Z ay hindi pa naririnig manlang ang mga pagkain na ito.
Soon, hindi niyo lang siya makikita, matitikman niyo na din!
Dahil… magbabalik dito sa Marikina ang mga pagkain na ito na na-enjoy ng ating mga lolo at lola noon!
Narito ang sampu sa most popular and familiar Marikina dishes:
1. Waknatoy
2. pininyahan manok
3. Okoy gulay/hipon
4. Everlasting
5. Lauya
6. Pansit Tagalog
7. Sinigang na hito sa bayabas
8. Ginisang mais hipon or baboy
9. Guinataang susu o kuhol
10. Guinataang Tagalog (monggo, mais,atis, chico, pipino, etc)
Yung #5 to 10 ay parang wala na yatang nagluluto or once in a blue moon nalang?
The plan is, ang mga dining places dito sa Marikina ay mag o-offer ng at least one of the dishes listed above. They can cook it as it was originally cooked or with a twist!
Isa ito sa projects ng Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry – New Marikina. It’s PCCI New Marikina’s initiatives and support to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
